JOKKAdesign - Fine knitwear Collection S/S 2013

JOKKAdesign - Beyond - fine knitwear collection

The collection layout and visual presentation reflects the features of Japanese culture. A knitted Kimono-inspired collection with western tailoring. As raw material designer, the fabric planning takes a lot of time but is my key starting point. Global trends in fashion, music, art and world political events are in a continuous influence for me - so when I create from the raw yarn, it's like a movie projector - my thoughts reflect onto the material and I ‘see’ the following collection style.

The collection name, "Beyond", and refers to my previous Pearl fine knitwear collection - the same pattern was used in a different way and in these two collection's there is a feeling of West meets East. In the PEARL collection, the aim of this fine knitwear was to radiate a sense of the Baroque period - a luxurious silky atmosphere unfolds before you. The BEYOND fine knitwear collection aims to capture a Japanese spiritual world of nature.

My aim with the BEYOND collection is to try and confirm that we have to turn back to natural values and use natural raw materials. The collection reflects this, as the raw material – the yarn - is 60% merino wool and 40% wool yarn.
