Julia Ramsey

Julia Ramsey is a knitwear designer and fiber artist. Rich in texture and dimension, Julia’s fabrics drape the body connecting figure with fiber. Her custom knitwear collections emphasize handwork, craftsmanship, appreciation for raw materials and for the techniques that transform them. Julia received a BS and MS degree in Knitted Textile Design from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. She has apprenticed with hand-knitter, Kaffe Fasset in London and has designed in the cashmere industry for brands such as Neiman Marcus, Holt Renfrew, Todd & Duncan, and Kinross Cashmere. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, where she is enjoying a yearlong residency at the Textile Arts Center.
